FEAR HAS BEEN MY BIGGEST HANDICAP

Because I am a Senior Citizen I can say I have survived, maybe against some odds, maybe because I grew up in the supposedly wonderful years. At any rate I survived, and I see the world from a different perspective because of the customs and happenings of my generation. That is not to say that every Senior Citizen has the same values or experiences; they should not be lumped into same category any more than teen agers, young adults or any other group.
My point being that just because I am old does not mean I am wiser than anyone else. I may know more about what it was like to grow up with my generation, but I would be totally lost trying to deal with the things that young people today are dealing with.
I am at the point where I look at each new day as a bonus day and by doing so I tend to make more of the day.
But that doesn't mean that I am not still questioning life, discovering new things, relearning old ideas with updated information.
I love the saying I heard today by Al Franklin "We are entitled to our own opinions, we are not entitled to our own facts. The other day I heard a comment that makes this even more critical. I don't remember who said it but they said that if you state something as fact enough times people will come to believe it. Facts can be twisted and turned to suit our needs. And two people can interpret the same fact to mean a different thing. So even opinion based on fact can differ. Where the problem and to me evil comes in is when we make up facts to suit our own needs or twist facts to say what we want to say.
So on this my first blog post, I hope I have established a theme, thoughts from a strange little old lady that may or may not make any sense. But an attempt will be made to be honest and present only facts as I know them to be.
